Ok everyone, looking back at the past, oh i dunno 6 to 8 yrs here in AZ, I know you all have your favorite event that took place. Weather it be a rave, house party, weekly event, club, or buh-juh in the back seat of yo' ride, something sticks out in your minds more so than the rest. Lets hear it...
For me it was D-DAY
Date: December 14th 1996
Location: Ice House
Line up: Delthafunkyhomosapien (w/heiro)
Dieselboy & MC Sphinx (hosam rocks)
1.8.7. (pre-girl i might add)

This was the shizzit not just because it was my crew's brainchild, but the fucking talent that was there!!! Every one there threw down some amazing stuff the entire evening..
Even though i ended up not playing, going crazy throughout the night trying to help maintain, getting punched in the jaw by some crazzed idiot on acid being chased by security, it was still a great time.. And who can forget the melting ice sculpture raining on the crowd and the cages raised up above the dance floor. Also the DJ booth up on the scaffolding in the cathedral room, yo that was great....I hope to scan some photos soon..
So cmon and throw yer favorite event up here and lesse what weesee..

Haven't been to too many craZy events here in Az but some of my all time favorites were back home. Citrus, Aug.97 Toronto. CraZy line-up, don't even remember. It was in the Science Museum with all exibits open and like 6 rooms of music!!! Unity 1, outside Pittsburgh in the woods June 98. 4 stages- 2 days, awesome line up and perfect vibe!!! My boys party in Feb.2000- Humble. In the paintball areana in Pitt. (kind of a shitty venue but was good for the night) Phantom 45, Wally, TC, and my boys!! As for house parties, my old apt.- fun times!!!

oh yeah- duh!!- Transformation 2, Cleveland OH. 99 I think??? Run DMC, Moby(spinning), Wilhem K, AK 1200, Danny tha Wild child- oh shit, can't remember anymore. I'm gettin' too old for this. But that was an awesome party!!!!!!
yes, 1.8.7. pre-woman...and he played a live dnb set yes? i seem to remember him gettin' buck-wild on the drum machine with his little frontal dreads flippin' around...or am i crazy? because once i asked her (him) if she ever did live sets anymore, and she said "i think you must have me confused with someone else". this has forever confused me. can anyone clear this up? cuz all i can figure is that she wants to deny her former gender.

Yeah she's a girl. Used to be a guy though. Underwent the transition in '97 i believe.
It was an Ensoniq ASR-10 workstation (at the time) he was going buck wild on.
Fuckin amazing stuff.
I'd say her most known to-date release though is Quality Rolls on Jungle Sky.

Actually 187/Jordana goes by Lady J now. After she was beat up a bunch of times back east she changed her name and started spinning in Pittsburgh. She called all the production companies there and what not. It was funny. We all knew it was her but felt bad b/c she was gettin' a beating. She spins two-step now.

Beat up a bunch of times?? I'm not sure where you're getting this info from, maybe she did end up moving back to Pittsburgh (that's where she's from), but if memory serves me correct, she got beaten up once really bad after a gig in Kent, OH and after that was living in London. For a while she had www.jordana.co.uk up but that is no longer active.
It seems like some of you people are fellow Clevelanders or at least close by. Anyone remember the Psychoactive DJ crew?

Gary- get freaky parties were the best!!!!! In 96 I was still in high school and was unable to go on roadtrips- damn parents! Where you from originally? NE representin'?? Hell yeah!! Back there the parties def. had the best djs. The line ups out here just SUCK!!!! Like Musik- no offense. anyway- peace!

If you are talking about musik this year....I enjoyed it! Yeah the line up wasn't jam packed with bad ass names but, Stakka was there and he played a bad ass set! I had never seen him before and hadn't been able to go out and dance since New Years, so i had a good time! at first it sucked though cuz the dnb/jungle room was 21+ and i was only 19 but, a friend gave me his bracelet thingy!
I wouldn't say it was my favorite though...I couldn't really narrow down! Nocturnal in Cali last year was fun! It was my first road trip , due to similar reasons as Katie/007 had in '96. The hip-hop and Dnb stages were bad ass...I got to see a bunch of Dj's I can't see here but, I hated all the people there......I swear i got so claustrophobic.Massives are rediculously large! :crazy

yeah, jordana was attacked a few years back. i don't remember any of the details at all, other than it was outside a club or something, but i remember hearing about it. im not into the whole sex change bit, but have to say that was pretty lame he/she got jumped like that.

It was outside a club in Kent, Ohio.
I was supposed to be there that night and
I can't remember why I didn't go.
I was also at the last gig she played as a guy ( i rented her the ASR-10 she used that night). The promoter moved her from headliner spot to last on the bill when he learned that he was becoming a she.
That was a terribly fucked up scenario but you all know human nature.... We fear what we do not understand. It's a sad fact but it is true.

I think FOUR on July 4, 1998 was one of the best parties for me. Listening to Marvelous Cain in the cathedral room while it was raining... people all around smiling, girls with wet t-shirts, oh my... it was a great vibe. I don't recall the whole line-up, because I had no idea at the time.
That was Four 2.My favorite party ever in AZ was the first 4,in 1997.That party was fucking amazing.DSLboy played and forever changed my view of what good music was.I had the best time ever at the Icehouse,and Yoda on the wall was freaking me out.I wish the Icehouse would use the Santa Fe building like they did in the old days....

I am from Columbus. Do you remember the family affair party's or Tilt in Columbus? I remember Dj Funk being one of the big names out there and when he came to Musik everyone was like who? Now that shit is crazy!

From what I understand they don't even do them in Ohio anymore. I think there in like VA or Indy ?

nope they stopped them entirely.
The production crews that got together and threw the F.A. events eventually dispersed and there was just no love no money and no desire to keep it continued.
As with most unfortunate endings to things in that scene drugs had a big part of it i'm sure. Sigh, it was fun while it lasted that's for sure.

Oh yeah!! NE representin' up in here!!! Family affair- I remember those. And Tilt- didn't make it to that one. All this talking has made me start diigin' through my crap to find my old flyers. Back then Flyers were NICE!! Flyers here suck! Yeah- DJ Funk would bring a huge crowd!!! You'd see hundreds of candy ravers grindin' up on each other. It was great! When I went to musik this year I got there at like 12 and thought he would be on around then seeing that it is a spot for a headliner. He had already played!! What the fuck?? My friend who is from Pittsburgh too said no one was dancing and the crowd was bunk. Whateva AZ. O'well. Did you go to the Transformation parties? Those were pretty phat. What the hell were those parties with Too Short and then the next year 2 Live Crew? Those were fun b/c you got your hardcore hip hop fans with the ravers and everyone got along- fun times!! Ah....those were the days:( sniff sniff
