Can anyone here get auto parts cheap? I need a new alternator for my 98 VW. I dont want to spend $300 for it if I dont have too. Hook me up if you know somone.

hit up a junk yard, or one of those pick-a-part places in the phone book. A lot of times, cars get totalled and get scrapped for parts, and there is tons of new/almost-new parts that get taken to the junk yard, for all kinds of cars. I bet you can find the same part you need, either new or almost new, for a fraction of the cost you were quoted. I found a new door for my car after I got in an accident, and it only cost me $10.

Theres a good junkyard on Mclintock just under the 202 in tempe that looks pretty good... look up on qwestdex.com for junkyards! Those places rule! I found a new fuel pump for my old 79 volvo at a junkyard that would have cost me 150 special order from overseas or an import specialist.
