I'd just like to take a moment to say I truly enjoy a lot of you people on here that I've met in person. This little music scene isn't perfect, and its got mad drama; but that's just a reflection of life. I guarantee that there's competition and biterness between old women at a church bake sale right now over who stole whose caserole recipe.

We all could learn to roll with the punches a bit more and realize that drama which gets us worked up one day usually becomes a distant memory the next. Most of these arguments in person and on the board have resulted in growth. Change is painful sometimes.

Its great that the majority of people appreciate what this silly web site has done. For anyone who thinks otherwise, fuck off and die you stupid piece of shit! :rinse

Communication and a positive attitude will save us all.

Also, to all of the people who live and die for this music, remeber, it is just music. Music is entertainment. If music is all you have in your life, I feel sorry for you. This is a huge world we live in and many different things to experience. DnB is not worth hating and fighting for. Express yourself how ever you feel honest about doing so. Most importantly have fun,and dont take a type of music you are into at the moment so seriuosly. Because like life, music changes. If you really see yourself listening to drum and bass 20 years from now with the same enthusiasm ask yourself this, where are your all you Bon Jovi or Bell Biv DeVoe cassettes now?

Things change, people change, I have learned to realize that the things I am passionate about one day may be something different the next. If you get caught up in the drama of a music scene you may miss an oportunity to interact with someone you have more in common with than just the music. Somtimes, you can learn the most about yourself, from someone you may consider to be the opposite of you as a person.

I think that its good that we are starting to have more respect but I personally was dis respected by you when you asked me 2 play on such short notice(unprofessional), also felt dis respected by lack of promotion and that you asked me 2 play a certain style.You didnt book KLUTE or ANDY C 2 play 10:30 2 11:30 I think that the next time that you guys book me have some more respect and base the whole show around me and pay me what I want I am not just another local but I am NATIVE. Point of the matter is that I would pay $ for you if you were the talent I decided 2 book and would hope you would do the same

For the record: we asked Kip to play just one week before at sub:con. Since he was finally able to come down and check out our night, we thought we were making a good decision in asking him to play the following week. The funny thing about him complaining of this 'short notice', it that he failed to mention that he AGREED TO PLAY.

We paid Kip the same amount we pay each DJ every night since the first day we started. Its not much, but its guaranteed and is more than most locals get at other weeklies. Its also the same amount that Kip AGREED TO when we told him what it was. BTW, when we get to the point of actually charging a cover, we will be offering the dj's a little more.

Its a shame Kip feels as though he was taken advantage of, especially when we feel we're helping him get exposed to a new audience.

i am curious as to what made you compare yourself to klute or andy c. they are known world wide. as for being a native im from this country as well.
unprofessional, please in all of your professional wisdom show us how it is done. personally i've been spinning dnb and promoting it since '94 (if im correct you were about 12 years old then). there was a glitch in our system and a that slot opened up. i thought you might appreciate playing for a change. i guess i was wrong.
the pay is simple economics, we get paid...check this out....NOTHING! instead we forfeit pay so our dj's get paid. sorry it wasn't enough for you.

some people can be so concerned with themselves that when you hand them something you have worked very hard to make happen they shit on it. all i can say kip is that i truely hope that you make it to be as legendary as you claim to be. your very smart and very talented, but tht is no reason to look down on others, especially people who are trying to build positive things for the scene of which you clain to be a part.
