braindance is... incredible! braindance is...
boundless; eclectic; entertaining; rephreshing; fulfilling; wholehearted; sensual;
stimulating; bold; unconventional; real; imaginary; visionary; essential; debonair...
braindance is unique!

Seems like Braindance = IDM/EBM/Experimental.

In that case, you'll be happy to that me and quite a few people are all into Autechre, Boards of Canada, Porter Ricks, Plaid, etc. Vector Burn is really into what he calls 'isolationist downtempo'

dope. . .

i honestly haven't found one person at all interested in the IDM scene whatsoever. ..

when I drive around playing some autechre or afx... . all i get is a bunch of wierd looks, and expressions screaming "what the hell is wrong with you" at me..

For about 6 months in 1999, I hosted an experimental/idm/ambient/dnb night at a coffee shop/bar in Tempe. It was called 'outlet' - premise was: come play all the records you really dig, but would never be able to play at a party because its too damn weird/slow/fast/etc.

It was fun, until the summer came around and the venue's AC broke down.

that would be the shit. . .

I just got all my idm vinyl sent out to me today,. . . to bad i don't have a table to play them on. . . oh well. . . they can be decorative for now. ..

If only there was another place like that. . . I have so much material on my laptop that I would love to play live. . .

just me and my laptop. . .out to hedphuk az...

are there any places like that anymore?

There's a night called 'Resistor' on Wednesdays down at Freedom in Tempe - but its mainly goth/industrial/darkvoltage. The guy who runs it, Scott (Basshead), is a serious analog-gear noise freak.

This is what I'm hoping for: the sub:Conscious night will get enough regulars to warrant opening up the downstairs area for 18+, and it will be all idm free-for-all. It won't be easy, but I'd love to see that happen in a few months.
