What is the weirdest, most odd movie you have ever seen? This comes from the fact that in the last week I have seen some just odd movies....Orgazmo ( about porn movies!?!) and depressing Requiem for a Dream.

I noticed you all mentioned some Terry Gilliam and John Watters films....but what about David Lynch's "Eraserhead?" isnt that wierd as hell? or how about "Naked Lunch" the impossible rendition of Willam Burroughs original "Naked Luch" which in my opinion is even wierder than the film. OBTW, Brazil makes perfect sense... Orwellian humor at its best, through the eyes of a not so pristine english chap.:spliff :subc

I'd have to say "Meet the Feebles": Muppets on crack, heroin, painkillers, etc...The weirdest part is the director went on to make Dead Alive (Greatest horror flick ever made), Heavenly Creatures (If I'm not mistaken), The Frighteners (kind of sucked)and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Thats funny you said that, Orgazmo and Requiem for a dream are two of my favorite movies of all time. Requiem was such an impact on me that I stopped doing E, I guess it made me realize that hard drugs are fucked up, and only destroy you!
I watched Orgazmo for the first time on acid, and it made me laugh so hard I was practically collapsing my lungs the entire time!! The funniest thing in that movie is that guy that comes in and is like EEEEEOOOOOOO!! I think not deter! And that line, "Dad i dont think Im going to use my hampster style anymore, and the father replies"thats nice sone." Fucking histaricle!!!

The only Requiem I have seen is the unrated version where Jared Leto's girlfriend and another girl masterbate with a two sided dildough in front of a bunch of guys saying "ass to ass". So of course I am going to think it is weird! Plus anything about drugs just depresses me...I don't like seeing people destroy themselves even if it is only acting. As far as Orgazmo, It was funny and i was drunk.....But, you have to admit anything concerning a staight up mormon and porno is weird......But i have to say Gummo has now knocked Orgazmo off of my two weirdest movies list!!!!!

Muholland Dr.- I watched maybe half of it, I don't know if it all ended up tying together or not, but knowing Lynch, probably not.
I still haven't seen all of Snatch but I hear it's kickass, and I liked the Cell for the imagery and level of production. Still don't think J-Lo needs to be on the mic, though.

Liquid Sky -- By far is the strangest movie (B movie anyway) in the truest defenition of the word 'strange'.
The Plot: Invisible aliens in a tiny flying saucer come to Earth looking for heroin. They land on top of a New York apartment inhabited by a drug dealer and her female, androgynous, bisexual nymphomaniac lover, a fashion model. The aliens soon find the human pheromones created in the brain during orgasm preferable to heroin, and the model's casual sex partners begin to disappear. This increasingly bizarre scenario is observed by a lonely woman in the building across the street, a German scientist who is following the aliens, and an equally androgynous, drug-addicted male model. (Both models are played by Anne Carlisle, in a dual role.) Darkly funny and thoroughly weird.

Desparate Living was one of the most bizarre and vile movies I have seen and I enjoyed the hell outta it. This was one of the early works of Camp-film pioneer John Waters (I think it came right after Pink Flamingos).
The Plot: After a psychotic wife and her maid murder her husband, they flee to the tyranic kingdom of Mortville which is ruled by a perverse queen and her leather-clad army of bisexual henchmen. Chaos and bad acting ensue.
This movie is fucking gross but I laughed my ass off at some of the scenes. You'll either hate it or love it. :rotfl

"Schizopolis"
...the way it dismantles communication and language is nothing short of amazing.
Hands down....it's the best and smartest movie I've ever seen, by a long shot. It's a Steven Soderbergh movie (he has the lead role, as well); he financed this film and a yet-to-be-released sequel for less than $300,000 with a bunch of friends in the mid 90s before his shit really blew up in mainstream film.
The story also has lots of parallels to the exploits of L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology, Inc.
:gush
I don't know if weird is the word I'd use for this, but it definitely gets a "wootoofoo?" after most first viewings.
"I feel that the result of where our society is--how it is destroying our language and using it to obscure instead of to illuminate, how we're bombarded by images and our sense of connection to a community and to other people is being torn apart--is that you end up with a guy making faces in the mirror and masturbating in the bathroom of his office. I think that's sad, and horrible."
-Steven Soderbergh, 1996

Heavy Metal was a weird one for me...maybe it was just how some of the charectars were drawn...or their facial expressions :O
Lain series was really strange, but I guess that doesn't fit since it's not a movie. Mullholland Drive was pretty wierd, and it only makes sense after you reeeeaaaaaly think about it.

I blame my weridness on Top Gun movie
i must have watch that stinky movie 10000 times when i was a kid..and look at me now :domokun
everytime i hear the theme song to that movie its like BOOM! im in my imaginary plane fighting off the baddies and zooming around
most of the zooming and fighting occurs in my mind so in reality im really straight face :love

i also blame 8bit video game music for my weridness, that stuff after awhile makes you all 8bit and gooey .
yeah and when i was being all werid and kid like i was eat the Teenage mutant ninja turtle microwave cheese pizza, it looks like the red baron microwave pizza except it was full of TURTLE POWER! and it was just plain cheese :(
oh yeah and the scariest movie that totally made me freaky freaky of freaky stuff was E.T. i dont get it, all the kids loved that movie and i was terrified of it. and im still scared of that movie i hope it never comes out on dvd and chokes and dies! rawr! :domokun
yeah and those charlie chaplin movies made me kinda wiggly, you know you gotta wiggle like chaplin when you watch him. wiggle and shuffle your feets and wiggle some more then turn black and white and make a movie :confused
