I havn't checked anything of Nas sinse illmatic, but someone who's musical taste I highly respect got me listening to it in his ride. The Jay-Z dis song is fire, I'm sure it hurt his feelings. The "hope ya got yourself a gun" chorus is catchy. The crescendo implemented with his lyrics (I don't remember which song) is pretty cool, simple musical concept that hasn't been done in rap (that I know of). The writting on the Premier track is pretty ill with the "momento" esque story line. That is the Premier track right? Speaking of which, I didn't especialy care for the new school radio friendly production. I can appreciate it, but my tastes are much more about dirty samples, ie. Premier. From what my friend tells me, this album is a triumph for Nas after some terrible previous albums. To me, that is worth something.:up

i just think his flow got kinda sloppy, and as jimmi said, too radio friendly for my taste.
