Wanna know what irks me????????

Its all these raves in the city that have drum and bass. Problem lies in the fact that the true heads who support Phoenix are not playing. Its a bunch of people I've never see or heard of. I think it should be made a point of the movement to make it known that only our folks would properly represent at their parites. Take the raves over and watch those folks come down on thurs/monday to really find out about Jungle/Drum and Bass.

But yeah I played for that party the Vortex from 12-2 for free and totally blew it up. Guy wanted me to play for him again and I told him I wanted 100 bucks for a hour. He said he couldnt afford it even though I deserve it. In the end they like to have Drum and Bass cause they know kids like it but dont want to pay the proper people to represent cause of the $$. :rinse

This same thing has been going on in all genres of music. Its the same old cycle:

Step 1. Originators get really good, start charging more because of supply & demand (plus they deserve it)
Step 2. Underbelly scrubs tell the promoter they'll play for free.
Step 3. Promoter says 'hell yeah! more money for drugs!'
Step 4. No-name DJ becomes Overnight-well-known after playing 20 $5 parties in a year, starts asking for money.
Step 5. Overnight-well-known DJ then gets undercut by the next No-name DJ poppin' out of the bedroom, but he's even worse off than the Originators because he's got no RESPECT from them.

The only thing we can do is make a unified movement to form a pseudo-union among the dnb heads... hmmmm... that sounds kinda familiar.
