Hmm..my most FAVORITE memorable set ever, was Mark E.G. (uk, techno) @ Furthur 2000: Somewhere, Wi.

Furthur is a festival that has been thrown every year for 10 years, mostly in Wi but I think a few years it was done in IL. The creater is Kurt Eckes, from the Drop Bass Network (also known as JethroX) and basically...it was a fucking free for all. Any sort of sub-genre electronica music you could even imagine was there, and thousands of people came all over the midwest to attend. DBN has a reputation of being "satanic", but all of the oldschool kids know it was just for show, while all the new school kids were really freaked out. I remember a particular year when Doormouse shoved raw meat up his ass on stage...a few of his other buddies shot rockets out of their asses...yeah. Weird. But these festivals would always be in the middle of nowhere, 2000 it was in a huge woodland area with a big pond. I didn't take any drugs there, but it was fun hanging out with those who did. :)

ANYWAYS, Mark spun this AMAZING set in the main tent. I was right in front of the stage, and it was starting to storm really bad. Water was leaking in the tent, lightning darted through the sky and the thunder sounded like it was in the tent with us. So many people were packed in there, and the vibe was thick, and he's a really fun DJ to watch spin, so everything felt just right. Water leaked onto one of his records, and as I looked down, I realized I was standing in about 6inchs of water. The tent was starting to wobble, parts that weren't tied down (even tho it was a carnival tent) were flapping in the wind...it was just a bunch of muddy people ... AHHHHH I miss WI! :)

Mix Master Mike + Rahzel @ Pompeii (Freedom) 2000 was the show that blew out the majority of the house sound system... which really sucked because LTJ Bukem, Blame & Rantoul had to play on it the following night. LTJ quit playing because it sounded so bad.

They're prolly not gunna do it again this year. they are having trouble finding a venue.
