OK, I just got a shit ton of software, none of which I know how to use.
I got:
-Acid 3.0
-Fruity Loops 3.4
-SoundForge 5.0
-Reason
-Cakewalk 9
-Cubase VST32
-Logic Platinum 4.7
-Reaktor 3.0
-Rebirth
Anyone that knows how to use any or all of these programs, please gimme some tips, as I am an admitted total novice in the production field. I would love to start noodling around, I just don't know where to start. Hopefully, in a few years, I can have a track worth hearing. Any and all help is appreciated, and thank you in advance. RESPECT.

This is all you need if you have a fast enough computer:
-SoundForge 5.0
-Logic Platinum 4.7
-Reaktor 3.0
Here's my simple getting started tutorials for logic: http://www.sub-conscious.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9
Otherwise:
-Acid 3.0
-Fruity Loops 3.4
-SoundForge 5.0
-Reason
-Logic Platinum 4.7
-Reaktor 3.0
-Rebirth

im my opinion you should get rid of your doubles. like you have 5 sequencer programs..all you need is one
keep soundforge 5.0, Reaktor, and acid 3.0
i think out of fruity loops and reason...the best one i think is fruity loops, because it supports vsti plugins, but on the other hand i found Reason to be a lot easier. the pattern sequencing just doesnt jive with me :D
and cakewalk, logic, and Cubase...all those are great programs(havent tried cakewalk yet) if you use these programs to do a lot of audio and virtual synths then a good sound card would help ...Echo Audio is pretty good, RME is suppose to be good (when i bought my sound card these were my two options..i choose echo audio gina24)
soon you will start to look like this :domokun
i already kinda look like this :domokun and :rotfl

Spend lots of time indoors playing with lots of different software. Meet people who know allot about each different sequencer whom don't annoy easily when you ask them to help you (thats the tricky part).. I have met professionals that use nothing but Fruityloops or even Acid and you could never tell by listening to their material. In my opinion there is no perfect combination of software that is going to work the same for each person.. although life is easiest when you at least have: a wave editor, sequencer and or some sort of controller to aid in your sequencing(not nessessary, but nice). A good online community for newbies: http://www.dnbproduction.com/ . It has lots of good tips and lots of arguing people who like to explain why their sequencer is the best.

I use Fruity Loops for sequencing, Cool Edit for sampling and mastering. That's truley all you need. I haven't found a trick I can't do in with both Fruity and Cool Edit.
Reason looks pretty striaght forward, but too gimicky. Fruity Loops keeps it simple and easy but may lack some power. Right-click EVERYTHING in fruity and find cool stuff!
