Anyone else having a problem connecting to a 3rd party SMTP server using Cox? I heard they are 'banning/blocking' the use of 3rd party SMTP servers and forcing you to use thiers. WTF!!!!??? Kim give us some info!

I forgot to mention, I can no longer connect to my 3rd party SMTP server to send mail. I HAVE to use COX. RAWR!!! :raging

yes, they made that change about 2 weeks ago. Read this for more info:

apparently they want to cut down on spammers using their service, which I understand; but blocking all 3rd party smtp servers seems a little overkill.

Yeah, I deal with this kind of shit all day from all over the place.

It's a growing trend. Happening more with Broadband providers than with dailup. It's a pain trying to get the server names from some of the providers.
