It was a great movie.
But for anyone who's read the Illiad- there were some confusing moments.

For one: Menelaus doesn't actually die in a duel between him and Paris. He actually lives and finds Helen after the fall of Troy among the ruins. He raises his sword to her heart- but takes one look at her and falls to his knees. They travel back to Sparta together and live happily ever after. (the phallic symbolism is famous)

Another: according to this movie- the Trojan War lasts only a couple weeks. It actually lasts over 9 years. I thought it would be a bit bloodier to.

Theres more... but its all details.

oh well....
much better than gladiator.

It was "inspired by" the Illiad, not based on it. I think thats hollywood for "butchered the story." I kinda liked it, not a very good epic film though.
