Pud,

We have been over this a million times, but I'll go ahead and indulge you for a second. The 2 party political system backed by capitalism and special interests sucks ass, but that is the state of affairs our country is currently in. Although there are great 3rd party candidates out there and I even like some of the Libertarian doctrine, I am a realist and know that they have no chance in hell on winning this election. That goes for any 3rd party candidate right now because of the current electoral process and the amount of money it takes to run a national campaign. So if we are to apply logic to the situation a vote for a 3rd party candidate is a waste this year. I'm not happy about it, but there is nothing we can do, it's too late. These parties should of had their shit together a long time ago and raised the necessary funds to compete in the national election. It's a fact of life my friend and that's how the current game is played.

So with that, we are left with two choices. Neither which I particularly care for, but on one hand I have a evangical, conservative, ideologue who if given another four years will ruin any progress this country has made in the last 50+ years. This is regarding civil liberties, our role in the world, and our economy (do republicans even know what deficit means?)

I'm still getting acquainted with John Kerry, I've read his positions, seen the man speak and out of the choices I have I'm ready to give him a shot at the job. He wasn't my first choice, but that's where we are today, so I accept that. You see, we still have a choice, you choose to vote for a 3rd party candidate that has no chance to win. I have evaluated the reality of the playing field and I am making a decision to toss out one of the worst administrations I feel that this country has ever seen.

If anything, you should be voting against Bush this year to at least maintain the balance of the executive and judicial branchs. The Supreme court has been split on most of it's decisions and one or two members may leave their seat in the next four years. If Bush wins he will select the next Supreme Court justice and you better bet your bottom dollar it's going to be a hard-line conservative. You might as well forget Roe vs. Wade and the whole civil rights movement because the federal laws will take a turn for the worse with no checks and balances left in place.

So please, quit calling people sheep and get off your ass and make a difference.

I will call people sheep until they stop BEING SHEEP.

I AM voting against Bush.

I AM voting against Kerry.

I am a realist, I vote for who I think will do the best job. In this case it happens to be a third party candidate... I respect myself more than to throw away my vote to the "least bad" out of the 2 major partys. :up

And unlike a lot of people I know, I don't need an explanation as to why so-and-so wants to vote for so-and-so. But the fact remains, there isn't only 2 possible choices for the highest office in the land. :wes

There’s no way in hell the liberals will be able to pull enough balls to make a difference. The sheep are the ones who own democracy with the majority vote. It’s the whole "what’s most popular will go through. " bit and by voting Kerry you are pushing for what can be the most popular and least evil. Since I don’t want to toss my vote away and I don’t want bush sticking his shit further into my food, there’s not much of a choice. If it was any other year, I would be throwing my vote to the liberals because its where democracy can work to its fullest extent, but its going to be unlikely that they will get the much needed 5 or 6 percent of the votes for their party's funding. The whole sheep analogy you keep bringing up is ironic in a sense because it’s more likely that your vote will be heading to the slaughterhouse than mine.

Edit: Its not a good idea to insult someone and then tell em what to do...doesnt hold a good arguement. :rolleyes :crackhead

You don't want bush in office again, but voting for someone else you don't want in office is going to solve the problem? Explain to me how that works.

if enough people quit acting like stupid sheep, a third party candidate might get enough votes to actually change something... which is all u damn sheep whine about anyway.

in my case, i can't vote for kerry, i don't think i'd be able to vote for him if i had a gun to my head... can't vote for bush, cuz i want my boy to come home from whatever combat he might be facing... so i'm left with the third party...

i'm not throwing my vote away. in fact, i would feel like i was throwing my vote away if i voted for either kerry or bush.

fuck it... i'm voting for cpud :up

Just because people may not want a particular canidate, doesnt mean they are not capable of getting the job done.

C pud, "see pud," its like this... As much time as you spend debating your lame ass internet poitics, you could be out in the real world, getting familiar with the real issues, and making a difference. Instead you choose to " :snore" on everybody that supports a different view than yourself. Now could you please explain to us how you "throwing away" your vote is going to solve the problem? Oh yeah I forgot, you dont want to solve anything, so keep eating those dorritios, but dont forget to wash your hands before you reply. ;)

Can you please elaborate on how throwing away your vote to a hopeless third party canidate is going to bring your boy home from combat? Seems to me more like a bullshit cop out.

I helped out on Tom Liddy's congressional campaign in 2000, that was enough time wasted to realize what bullshit the whole process is. I've spent enough time working on a partisan campaign to know that the only objective is to BEAT THE OTHER PARTISAN CAMPAIGN. My vote wont solve shit, but I'll rest easy knowing I voted for WHO I WANT TO BE PRESIDENT rather than voting for who I think will beat the incumbent.

The "John Kerry is a douche bag but I am going to vote for him anyway" (its a website I didn't make that up) attitude is spineless and avoids the problem. How is putting another dumb shit in place of the current dumb shit going to solve anything? Its not. And I'll be the first to say "I told you so" if it comes to that :up

:rotfl its just having different priorities. I do hope that badnarik wins, tho...or does enough good to get his party some beef. His ideals hit right up my alley. Just the threat level is only yellow for him. I want to take care of the red first, downgrade to orange.

Mike: check out this new tune I finished, its drum and bass

Zach: wheres the bass?

Mike: It doesnt have any.

Zach: But its drum and bass. (?)
