So I had a traffic ticket and had to go to court. I failed to have my insurance card with me (I have insurance) and had out of state plates. I went in and fond out that the first offense had a $425 fine and the second had a $550 fine. I was shocked but it was my fault so I cant really complain. I then heard the woman behind the counter tell the woman next to me that her fine for NOT HAVING A DRIVERS LICENSE AT ALL was $100.
That just diddnt make sense. I am not complaining that I got fined but......
Out of state registration which means legal to drive, passed inspection, up to date and fully licensed but not giving $ to AZ = $425.
Having up to date insurance but forgetting to have it in your car= $550 (cut in half cause I actually had it)
No license, meaning not authorized to safely or legally operate a vehicle at ALL under any conditions and obviously no insurance seeing as you need a license to get it = $100
WTF? :eek :rolleyes :crackhead
Someone needs a job called 'common sense checker'. They just sit around all day, ignore all the red tape and politics and just make sure that laws and legislature is not BLATANTLY STUPID. :rotfl
Maybe next time I get pulled over I should just tell the officer that I dont have a drivers license at all and I will get off easy.:moon

Not to mention how much I pay for insurance and the $ I had to spend to get my car registered here. I asked the woman behind the desk wtf was up with that and she just shrugged and said 'we just follow the legislatin that passes'.
I mean thats great and all, but isnt there anyone anywhere with a sliver of common sense who might question something so stupid on our behalf? :rolleyes

at least she didn't say, "i dunno, i jus werk hurr."
how about this..
a few years ago i was rear ended in my 98 stratus by some dirty chick in a fucked up car, she tried to run from me, i chased her bitch ass down, and managed to wave down a cop. turns out the stupid bitch has no insurance at all, no drivers license, and no registration. i tell the cop she hit me and ran, he dosnt do shit but issue her a ticket and sends her BACK ON HER WAY in her fucked up car w/ no legal papers AT ALL. then the worthless cop asks me for my license and registration. turns out my insurance wasnt in my car and my license was in another pair of pants. so it totally slips my mind and i dont go take care of it, months later i get a letter from the DMV telling me my license is suspended from this. so i am left with about a 1,000$ bill for all that shit, plus im out about 2,000$ for the bumber she destroyed, that she now dosnt have to pay for because she is a dirty poor hooker.
and people wonder why i fucking hate cops. the law is nothing but a worthless bunch of money grubbing fucks out to get a buck.

ive been pulled over without proof of insurance before....they dropped the fine later because I was able to prove that I was insured at the time I was pulled over.

same here, i've had good luck w/ tickets - ask the cop to ticket you for wasting a finite resource instead of a speeding ticket, and if he's not a dick you'll get off w/ a $40 fine

I too have had good luck with cops. My issue is not with them at all. It is with the legislature and absurd and arbitrary fine amounts.
