One thing I did with Collective Conscience 2 years ago was something they called the "Diameter Remix Project". which could be best described as taking one track and everyone remixes it in sequence. So say I threw out a track, then zipped up all of the samples/patches maybe the file saved from whatever sequencer I used and give it to the next person and they have their way with it and package it for the next guy. Does that sound like something anyone would be intrested in doing?
you can check out some of the complete projects:

diameter project 2 (http://www.mp3.com/ccd2)
diameter project 3 (check me out!) (http://www.mp3.com/ccd3)

Thats another good idea! There was this one community I was apart of long time ago, http://www.mp3-tribe.com/, they set something like that up and only registered users who contributed files where allowed access to it.. It was very popular. I have some source code for collective conscience a while ago for something simular but im sure jason could cover it if he wanted to throw something like that up too :P

actaully, it seems you are able to attach files to posts in this over-featured forum software.. well there we go! I am close to finishing up something that I wouldn't mind getting violated by everyone. What is everyones preference as far as getting the sounds? I could make loops out of all my drum sequences that you guys could throw into your favorite slicer, and everything else I could just .wav it I suppose? I will post an mp3 soon as is done (within the next 2 weeks it looks like), unless someone wants to start it off?
i use mac. . so if you could make an mp3 i can download, or maybe isntant message it to me sometime...
i may be able to unzip PC files. .
